An experienced individual capacity will reach a limit. Mentoring enables horizontal scaling in a team.
Knowledge isolation is the main source of bottlenecks. This also led to the manifold ‘single point of failure’.
Mentoring is not exclusive to 1–1.
Any form of knowledge interaction & circulation activity is useful enough. Pairing, regular sharing session, blog post, tech review & feedback, etc.
Optimize for mentoring whenever possible. It is high leverage effort.
