As tech worker,
Things that I personally appreciate being back to work in office,
- Time flies fast
- The intentional ‘working’ ambience by-design. It does help keep me in the zone.
- Lunch time with buddies, which I’m most excited about
- Quick “Teh tarik” break
- In-person interaction I must say have different positive impacts
Thing that I hate the most (probably many of us),
- Driving to office & back. Parking too. (how I wish taking public transport is simpler & reliable here)
Nonetheless, I can’t deny and do believe technology will continue to challenge 100% in-office presence. It’s going to enable & push for efficient remote working condition moving forward.
…on Hybrid mode,
A new generation of tech talents will question & demand for that flexibility.
“What if I can deliver work output from anywhere?”
“Does where I sit matter & bring any difference to my work output?”
They will most likely be attracted to places that value & support this freedom.
Eventually, it’s unavoidable & expected. Adding new factor of working satisfaction & happiness.
Employers should take chance by continuously explore & adapt. Be experimental & open.
Full resistance may not help much.
